Hopefully he signs back up under a new name, just as long as its not MIke-L.

When I first saw the 'Ex-Member' under HdDude, my first thought was that we sacrificed Jim to the CVO gods, ...and I missed it !

I amm sure it is the latest, but it don't matter... No matter what, I will use it IF I really need to find myself, or, I will get a real, modern GPS more fitting of a 33K bike.  And yes, it goes back to where you set it, but what confuses me also, is the volumes, when I want to lower the radio, it seems the Nav is wanting directions...it is all too confusin for me, it's a disctraction.  But if it had a map, it would do no good either, because the radio display in general sucks too.  Endomyopinion.

The navigation system is a poor design compared to my Garmin Nuvi. The worst part is placing the nav discs in any time you want to change destinations

I agree with that! I just put mine in for the first time yesterday morning. I was waiting on Mama to get ready and thought I'd see what it was about. We were heading to a little breakfast place which is about 2 miles from my home and then out to ride. I was impressed that I found it under "food" category at about 2 miles away but after clicking the "ok" button it tried to take me somewhere 11 miles away! I had similar troubles with the HD Garmin GPS on my stock ultra. I'll stick with my Zumo if and when I need navigation. ;D

I added the built in unit to my HK on my '06 SE Ultra.  While it lacks the visual mapping, I've found it fairly easy to enter locations and the verbal commands are pretty good.  Best is that it's integrated with the radio so it will knock out the volume when providing directions.

I havejust taken delivery of my 07 Glide and it does have a Nav sysyem installed.I live in the U.K.It comes with a set of discs  with maps for all of Europe. But as I have not been supplied with the seperate operators manual,I'm flying by wire at the moment. It appears that you can only use the system with the appropriate country map disc in the bike, therefore obviously you cant lsisten to a CD.The radio does work though. At htis point in time it seems to be a very basic system(no street numbers ,or Hotels in the POI file).
Hope this is of some help.

Hi Davie.  Welcome to the board!  Where about exactly are you, and what colour Glide have you got?

HD seem to have forgotten to ship the Nav System manual with ALL of the HDI bikes - none of us have got one so far.  :-\

Tell your dealer that you should have had one and get him to order one - part number is 76402-06

Meanwhile, you can read all about it here:

After you enter the destination in the GPS, and you hit OK, you can remove the disc and listen to cd.  But all of this is so 80's, so I do not personally use the unit for nav. If you like this unit, you might just have an 8 track player in your car too. I am looking for a good deal on a ZUMO.

The best price I've been able to find on the Zumo was from Buydig. If you find anything cheaper let me know. TIA

I'm wonderin how many "dude's" or forms of d00d's we can get?   :huepfenlol2:

At least that way when we're all together in one place someone can just say Dude...should make things more simple?  Are there any "dudettes" out there that want to chime in here?   :multi:
