PROGESSIVE MONOTUBE FORK KIT AND LEGENDS AERO -A REAR SHOCKS
« on: August 19, 2015, 12:21:04 PM »

I just installed legends aero-a rear air shocks with compressor and gauge, also had local shop install progressive fork kit .  front shocks now seem to harsh, faring has more rattles , left speaker rattles, does not nose dive like stock, I was hoping for a happy medium. rear shocks are not as plush as I hoped , have tried adjusting as I ride , have rebound set on 1,  I started on 3 but had a pogo feel , also almost always ride 2 up total @ 450lbs, any ideas ?

Can't help with the Progressive front fork cartridge kit.  I put the Harley Premium Ride Cartridge kit on my '12.  Really cannot recall how the stock was except for the severe nose dive under even moderate braking.  The new kit stopped that but on really bumpy roads it can be a bit harsh but nothing like what you described.

On the Legend Aero-As I found the rebound adjustment to be counterintuitive.  That is a higher number = less rebound.  So for solo I run them on '5' and about 75 lbs air pressure.  For two-up (about 350 for both of us) I run them on '2' and about 120 lbs air pressure.

Not sure what model bike you have these on.  These settings are for my '12 CVO Ultra.  Try those settings and see if they offer any improvement.

Thanks for reply , I have same bike as you , I started at same pressure solo on #3 /  this morning went to 1 and same pressure, it seemed better, but I will try as you did , 2 up I have not gone that high on pressure but I will on next ride . I love being able to change pressure on the go but I was really hoping for a more comfortable ride . will try some different settings , thanks again

I just got a 2015 RG Ultra and need to lower the bike so I can stand flat footed. Will the aero's work for lowering around town and then adjust up on the fly? I have heard that they will but would like a recommendation on what you guys think.
Thanks,
Mikey

I don't think so.  I've run Legends since 2006 and have them on both my bikes.  The shocks are hydraulic and the air is for pre-load only - like adjusting the springs on a non-air shock.  When pumped up to their full extension / maximum height I find there is still not sufficient air pressure for a good ride.  So if you want to keep them low you may not be able to get enough air pressure for a good ride.  And keeping them low means they don't have their full length of travel which can present other problems.

This is just my experience.  If others experience is different I hope they will jump in and comment.
