« on: September 10, 2015, 06:26:52 PM »

Anybody got the wiring diagrams for a '14 or later touring model? Need to know:

Any help is greatly appreciated

I've got the standard and the FLTRUSE supplement manuals for my '15. There's all kinds of diagrams in them. Which end of the bike? Front or rear?

I have them, but explain exactly where you need the diagram. At tail lamp and turns or under seat? I can post pic if I know what part you need

Thanks for the prompt replies!!
Under the seat is good enough. I'm trying to wire in the '14+ bag LEDs on my 2011 and the color codes are off. The r/t/b module included jacks in under the seat so that should be good.

Thanks again!!

So you have the wires you need under your seat, just need to know where to tie them into the bag LEDS? '14+ bag LEDS, the ones that wrap around the new style bags like I did on mine?

Just want to be 100%

sure before I tell you to tie into the wrong wire. :'(

Yeah ... That's them
I was hoping it would be standard codes and it looks like it is going into the r/t/b controller included with the kit.

Because the '14+ use a BCM (body control module) I don't think I can use the included controller, and the color codes don't match up going directly to the lights.

I guess I'll just have to mess around with them ...

9v battery and a couple of test leads going to the lights themselves maybe? I think you may have to use that module somehow. It has to have resistors built into it to keep the running lights dimmer than the brake/turn lights. Either that or you'll need a resistor/diode setup from your wires directly to the lights. It's how I had to do it to put sail panel lights on our Avalanches so they are R/B/T.

Not the best pix but you get the idea of where the extra lights are going up the side of the truck.

Here's a crude drawing of the setup I use

Oh there is no doubt I need a controller, just not sure I can use the one included with the kit.

A buddy of mine has a '14 SGS so I'll have him over for some Crown and hook it up to his bike.  I'll pull leads from the connectors for the LEDs one at a time ... Then find a controller that will work with the lights.

Once I get the lights working I think I'm gonna have the shrouds painted to match the bags. They are not a perfect fit on the pre-14 bags but I think I can get them close enough that no one can tell.

Sure appreciate all the help

Ok ... So this is getting frustrating

Can you guys give me the reference signals of the following wires in the main rear lighting harness?

Red/orange
Blue/red

The others I have but the controller is not powering up the LEDs

Ok ... I'm scrapping the project.
Without a BCM the lights will not cycle between turn and brake. I can have them as run and turn, but not having them as brake will always bug the living heck out of me!!

Back in the box and on the shelf if I ever buy a newer bike (doubtful).

Thanks again for all the help.
