Curious if the frt fenders on newer bikes changed due to the larger forks? I'm thinking of having the Fat Boy fender I have on my '09 Classic painted to match and putting it on the FLTRUSE. Thanks.

The base part number did change for 2014 from the previous model years. The shape of the fender changed, and the mounting system also changed such that the mounting bolts now are inserted into a through hole in the sliders and screw into a nut welded to the fender. See the attachment (click on it for full size). Converting a previous model fender to use nuts versus the threaded holes on the old sliders shouldn't be a problem, but what you'll need to find out is the distance between the mounting points. I don't have that information.

I put a 2014 Russ Wernimont hugger fender on my 2009, I had my body guy braze the holes in the fender and use the mounting bracket to drill new holes, then prepped the fender and painted it. Looks great now, it's the only way a 2014-16 fender will work.

If your fender uses standard softail mounting and an adapter, you will just need a new adapter.
