The 24D will work fine with stock compression, and when "Biko-Boredom" sets in, it becomes a great building block for more power.
If you look back in the Twin Cam section, you'll find a tune Mike Roland did with a stock 110" and the 24D. You'll be impressed.

heath28....   How much Compression from headwork?
Roughly 10.4 iirc. John Sachs did my headwork. And Jason at c&s tuned it.

Hillsidecycle....  copy of what cam?

+1
IIRC the 24D was copied. Mike Roland and Doug Lofgren took a lot of flack from the so called know it all's on another forum, for their forward thinking. Mikes heads and cams made tremendous power, and would be mainstream if the heads were cast instead of billet=cost prohibitive for many. Maybe cast wouldn't have the same repeatable power as billet, I don't know. Those know it all's cried happy dyno, and had all kinds of theories why their stuff couldn't work blah blah and as a result made many a would be buyer skeptical. Doug is one of the most thorough tuners in the business but mostly does Ducati's now. Roland forgot more about making power than some of those engineer types who have more theory than practical experience.
Well, got that off my chest LOL.

That was not a copy........the 24D is the geniune benchmark of which others were copied......
We have had cams we designed and had ground by Andrerws and Comp, here, and have worked very well, but with all the cam "fog/mist/smoke" out there, we kept those here.
The 24D, however, DOES NOT, fall into the smokey area........

Then again you have to decide for yourself if the cam is a copy or an improvement on the original

the 24D has but one "clone".....and the guy selling them sells ALOT of them

Unfortunately for Mike Roland, Kuryakyn didn't know how, or put enough advertising behind his/their hi- performance program. Also their reputation as a chrome "do-dad" store didn't help the hi-po program either.
Mike designed the 24 cam long before it went into production. When it turned out to be a winner, it was immediately copied by several.  :D

That type of happy horse-hockey is rampant in this industry..............
Example:
Joe's Cycle has large CVO Ventilator filters made by Green, in Broddock PA.
He recieved a call one day from them saying that the "drop shipment" to Wisconsin could not be processed as the card either had a daily limit, or something else was wrong.
He has never had a c/c, never placed an order.............. :o :o :o
Fact.
