Yes, about 7 yrs ago.  Lots of switchbacks and curves.  Some floorboard dragging too.  Good ride.

I have, it's a great road, only disadvantage for me is it's so far east. We rode blue Ridge parkway to blowing rock then took 421 to bristle. I still prefer the dragon.

Yes. Nice road. Also see Devil's Triangle - another good road in east TN.

Thanks guys, I figured since my wife can't ride for quite some time I would go ahead and get in some of the places she wouldn't want to ride anyway.  Don't think I could take being poked in the ribs for 33 miles lol.

I second the devil Triangle. I always expect to hear banjos when I ride it.........

I've taken or recommended that route to many.  I prefer it over the Dragon any day.  I have noticed as of late that the sport bike community has found it, and was out in force when we rode it in June.

Been there two times....Rode from Blowing Rock to Bristol on 421....Great Ride....Every Ride is Different, To me this ride has a lot less bikers than the Dragon...Its 33 miles long (the snake) compared to the Dragon 11 miles....

+1 on the snake. The snake is not adertised as much as the dragon but is a great ride.  I think another road I was on down that way was 58.  It was also a very nice twisty road.

We ride it two or three times a year and it is a must do if looking for the "famous" roads in out area. Less traffic than the Dragon and it has more variability to the road layout. It adds elevation changes that the Dragon does not and includes a bit more scenery. The intersecting road from Damascus to Elizabethton is nice also.

I live 500ft off the SW leg of the D.T. (hwy 62) and it is a great road.  Just rode it again two weekends ago.  Watch out for the mobile homes with all the 1 gallon milk jugs sitting in the pick-up beds.  Have no idea what those might be for....dem folks shore drink a lots of milk.... ;D

As for the original question on hwy 421, yes.  3 years ago.  Great road.
