The latest I have off the web is that it is still closed to thru traffic.  It must have been a doozie of a landslide, as it's been closed now almost 4 months.  But then we had almost record rains here in the early and late spring and parts of 23 are very steep on either side, plus, Arkansas is notoriously slow and inefficient at repairing roads - even state treasures like 23.  One can only hope that they have it fixed by 2017!!!

As of last weekend they still had the road blocked off as Cass Ar on the south end, don't  really remember where it was blocked on the north end. I did ask around with the locals there in Cass and they were all under the impression that it should be opened back up mid Oct. So anytime soon I hope. I will tell you though that with it being closed there at Cass has forced the wife and I to ride Hwy 215 along the Mulberry River and that has been a very nice change

Thanks for the preview of things to see on my scouting ( fact finding ) trip to the GTG site. I know we are 19-1/2 to 20 months away from 2017 National MITM, but that time will pass quickly and now is the time to be planning. I look forward to riding the area and meeting up with you, Twolanerider, Ghost Rider, Bubba, and anyone else that wants to help sometime next spring.
