but yet no update on the website.  you'd think that they would update the website before they started shipping tires......

Is this the same tire as the HD branded tire...just without HD on the sidewall?

Still nothing from Michelin.......it used to say 'sorry, not for your bike'.....now it tells you the size....then lists the sizes...without the right ones.IIt got me exited for a brief second.

it is not the same as the hd branded d407.  however, it is a multi tread design, in the proper size, and proper load rating.  looking at the j&p link provided above will show you the difference in tread design, and more importantly, give you the price.  j&p has it for $189, though they do say that 'original price' is $309, so if it isn't on sale, then close to the same cost as the oem tire.

i'm gonna be due for a new set of tires in the next few months.  i will not hesitate to go with the american elites vs the oems.  unless, the dealer is having a special (last was 15% off list) with $1.00 installation.  in that case, it's worth it to pay a little more and not have to do the labor myself.

Maybe the American Elite tires won't start to howl at 8000 km!

Hope this is correct. Prior posts had Michelin stepping up to the plate in late August with the Commander II, but that never materialized.

Michelin doesn't offer a 130/60/19 front. Neither does Avon.

That's what I'm thinking also. Plus you don't have to deal with arrogant dealers.  :drink:

Ran across this at American Motorcycle Tire;

http://www.americanmototire.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=33_120_884

Didn't see the load rating, only saw the speed rating "H"

Yep, Drag has them in stock. the tire has an 80 (990 lb) load rating, same as the stock 407
