I think this could only be a good thing.  It's going to be enough to spirit at least a few that might otherwise buy HD product.  If Victory followed suit I believe at some point the MoCo would have to follow suit.

Buddy just traded his FB Low for a '15 Chieftain. I just can't past the "Pug" look of the front of that fairing.

Mike I agree the fairing is not attractive in anyway. It will be interesting to see how your buddy does with the bike as far as quality problems compared to MOCO. Let us know.

I saw a number of the new Indians at the Hot Springs rally in AR this past September.  They do have a  lot of nice details, but their looks...well...I just can't get past the looks or many of the colors.  And some of the reviews say they have a way to go yet to come up to Harley quality (gulp!), but Indian's a company that's hungry whereas I think Harley has lost that hunger (to please customers) and I worry about their desire/ability to get that hunger back and make it genuine and make it last.

On the other hand, if Harley doesn't get off their collective butts with quality control and attitude, and make this Rushmore thing really count for something, I may have to go look at the Indians.  It has really upset me to read about all the issues with my $40,000 motorcycle, and it won't take much more of that for me to stop buying Harley.  I'll keep mine and limp along fixing what they should have made right to begin with rather than go buy another from them.  I hope you're reading this, MoCo.

Mind you...I just said go look at the Indians.   :P

Besides, what the heck would me and the wife do with all our Harley brand clothing?  My guess is the MoCo is counting on that and brand loyalty, but other companies have played that hand in the past and lost it all.

Sounds like they are having to make some adjustments to meet their sales targets.

I how they continue to improve quality and their look, Harley needs someone to get them to step up their game.  I also like the 5 year warranty offering, I had to buy mine. The first bike I ever rode on was my cousins Indian in 1955 so to me they will always have a special place in my heart. Good luck to them.

With the Roadmaster costing $2,500 ('16 RGU) to $3,500 ('16 EGUC) more than comparable HDs, one can add the 5 yr ESP and some accessories.

While I too, sometimes get frustrated with HD, the Indians won't be on my list anytime soon. Why pay more for being a new manufacturer's test mule??

For the way I use my bikes, the HD Dealer network (for good or bad) means a lot to me, the top 5  other motorcycle manufacturers combined don't even come close to the presence of HD.

that isn't a true 5 year warranty.  the factory warranty is 2 years, with 3 year esp.

I'm reading between the lines that Indian isn't moving their 2015s and is having to tickle the market with incentives.

Heard one a few weeks ago....didn't like how it sounded. How many senses can be offended by one bike?

I do like the Indian.  I'm not so wild about the fairing, mainly due to that huge chrome piece.  At Bikes Blues and BBQ Indian had tricked out a Chief and most the Chrome was carbon fiber on white bike.  It looked very good.

The vintage is a beautiful bike and excellent competition for the Heritage, and a feel a better bike.  Bags are quick detach, as is back seat, wind shield and back rest.

I really hope Indian continues to Improve.

The Scout is a cool bike also.
