Ipod connectivity issues
« on: October 25, 2015, 09:23:00 AM »

Greetings all,

Could someone please give me advice with the following challenge i have on my CVO?
I have a 2012 CVO Streetglide, and i am struggling to get my ipod to work.
I have a 8GB Ipod Nano connected via the connector cabling in the right pannier box.
My problem is thus: i am able to play my music from the ipod, but i have no control via my controls on my steering.
I get the message that my ipod cannot connect, although it plays the music.
I cannot change, view or select any function via the steering controls.
I have just had the connector cable replaced this morning.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks

I would try a different ipod.  if the 'new' ipod has the same problem, then it is a bike problem.  if it doesn't, then it's an ipod problem.  you could also try your ipod in a different bike as well.  good luck, haven't seen/heard of this issue before.

i also have had the same issue since a ride in Aug & got caught in a severe down pour. I've swapped ipods & still no difference. put ipod in bag of rice, used hair dryer on connection cables. going to send off the head unit under esp. talked with couple of audio vendors & they even suggested to send it off rather than replace it with their systems. I know of a couple riders that have had their 12's replaced several times already. feeling fortunate that this is my first, if that's supposed to make me feel better. even had a couple of the guys at MVGT take a "ponder" at it it also. no luck

Have you tried to "Reset" your ipod? I had a similar problem with mine in that I could not control it with the handle bar switches. Also after I did a reset, I connected it to my laptop and got a update from itunes. Just google "reset ipod nano" there are several threads on the subject. It's been working fine after all that

X2 on the reset & update ipod option. Had the same issues with my 11SERGU and it worked for me. Much easier than sending the head unit off as a start point. Good luck.
