I think that we'll see this as an accessory.  But if they're smart, rather than make you put a new switch in the dash panel, they'll just put the button back on the key fob and use that to lock and unlock the bags...that'd be cool. 8-)

When we ride, I am trying to figure out a new habit, due to the option of locking the bags. The routine has  been changed no doubt.,

Scenario A.
1. get to where you want to go.
2. Stop bike.
3. Shut off engine,
4. Shut off ignition,
5. wife gets off,
6. I get off,
7. she wants purse
8. open TP,
9. close TP
10 turn on ignition,
11 lock button pushed,
12. turn off ignition
13. walk away
14. come back
15. lock fork
16 walk away.

Or:
Scenario B
1. Stop Bike
2. Lock Bags and Bike
3. Tell wife SOL.

Walk away alone.

Uh Huh

So, a button on the FOB would be nice to work w ignition on or off for locking bags Yup!

Locking bags are great, I agree key fob operation would also be great!

Checked out this feature on a RED SEUC2 at Rider's HD last weekend.  Takes up a considerable chunk in the saddlebag, and it's addition would require new saddlebag liners and switch reconfig.  I think I'll keep doing things the way I always have.  It is pretty cool tho'.

I have the 07 SEUC with electronic locks and the new key fab. Right after getting the bike, I had the TP removed and added a Quick attach for it. The amp for the stereo had to be moved to the saddlebag. Evidently when they did all of this, they had to re-wire one of the plugs. Evidently one of the plugs was installed assbackwards. Now, when I hit the lock button, the Saddlebags will lock and the TP will unlock. When I hit the UNLOCK button the saddlebags will unlock and the TP will lock. I know it's a simple matter of switching 2 wires somewhere, but have you ever tried to break those little white plugs apart? No thanks, I'll let the dealer do it next time I'm there for service. So, here's my procedure.

Scenario A.
1. get to where you want to go.
2. Stop bike.
3. Shut off engine,
4. Shut off ignition,
5. wife gets off,
6. I get off,
7. she wants purse
8. Turn Ignition on
9. Unlock button pushed
10. Try to open TP
11. oops, Lock button pushed
12. Open TP
13. discover purse is actually in the saddlebag
14. Unlock button pushed.
15. Open saddlebag
16. Wife grabs purse
17. Shut saddlebag
18. Lock button pushed.
19. Need key Fob and key to manually lock TP. Discover it's in the saddlebag.
20. Push Unlock
21. Grab key and keyfob
22. Shut saddlebag and Push Lock.
23. Manually lock TP and put keyfob in pocket.
24. turn ignition off
25. Reverse procedure after returning.

I wonder are we getting too high tech? Aren't motorcycles supposed to be the minimalist approach? Wait, let me access the web on my cell phone and email Harley to get their thoughts.

I enjoy mine as well, but a fob will make it even better. I am working with a company (autoloc) to come up with a 4 channel remote and some small relays to run my Legend Air Suspension via remote. The other two channels I want to run the locks. I think this will be a cool/clean addition for the shocks instead of a toggle switch buried some place as Legend no longer sells the nice chrome gauge mount and micro switch combo.
If anyone is interested, I will let you know how I make out.
JD
My fob and relays showed up today, so hopefully I will have time this weekend to install, test and report how this system works.

I like mine. But I agree that they need a button on the FOB.

JD,

Let us know how it turned out

Thanks,

jeffj

I got started yesterday but wasn't able to stay with it. The outer fairing had to come off to access the lock/unlock relays. I have my module mounted and learned. I checked to make sure the grounding outputs work and they do. Now I have to install the relays to operate the factory relays. This gets a little complicated in that I also need to run a relay to run a 12v source as well as the trigger wire....I wasn't planning on that. I know what I need to do, just have to round up what I need and go back at it. Having the 07 SE service supplement was/is a must so that you can see how the system operates. I will keep you posted.
