I would just plan on a bore and hone.  Most will upgrade the guides but if your are not worn and there is no oil around the guide etc you could re use them upgrade to the viton seal slip in a set of AVV 600 springs for your stock cam or even larger. I would not use the 650 lift spring unless you are over 630 lift as the 600 is no wear near coil bind or retainer to seal. @ 630.

Hello.

Resurrecting this post, I am the original Poster. Just to report that following rebore and new pistons, new valve stem seals but not guides. After 1000 miles it has not used any oil at all. This from the last consumption figures of about 700 mls to the litre.

So it would seem that despite the bores not showing, by measurement, any significant wear the rebore and pistons have cured the problem.

Again than you for the advice throughout the repair. No doubt I will be back for more information in due course.
