« on: November 23, 2015, 01:22:10 AM »

Do you have a tuner or is it stock? Once upon a time I had a power commander that did the same thing.

If no Power commander installed, next suspect item is the crank position sensor.  Any codes?

If I remember correctly, the 2003 model didn't have a Maxi fuse but rather the old circuit breaker which was prone to thermal failure.  Since your problem seems to be related to temperature, I'd check the main circuit breaker and replace it.  I think it was a 50 amp breaker, someone like Twolanerider would know for sure.

I experienced your problem some years ago.  It turned out to be a failing coil...

It is a 40 amp breaker. They will behave as Scot suggested. Though perhaps the absolute regularity you describe might be a little unusual.  Might also question the coil and the crank position sensor. Remember too that vintage bike still has the cam sensor and those were nortorious for failure.
