2016 cvo street glide seat
« on: January 10, 2016, 04:44:58 AM »

Ok so I went for the first ride on the new bike today, put 300 Klm on it and found the seat to be a bit hard on my ass to the point it went numb.
The question I have is has anyone had a similar experience, and which after market seat did you buy for comfort on long rides, looking at a matching pillion one too cheers😎

Everyone's anatomy is different, but i would certainly give it a few more rides.  I don't have much padding back there and it is comfortable to me from the first ride.  Adding the backrest made the whole system a keeper for me.  I know several members have changed their seat but i really like the look of it and am glad it has worked out.   Ride it another week or so.

By chance did i see you around Windsor yesterday, I have found my seat to be very comfortable after i replaced the rear shocks.
Other wise you tend to tense up in preparation for the hard shock rebound, i recon causing your uncomfortable seat/ride.
The shock replacement is the best thing you could do, as you know our roads are crap.
Enjoy your new ride. :2vrolijk_21:

I have run Mustang seats on my other bikes, but after 1000 miles I find my CVO seat fairly comfortable. It also looks pretty good IMO. I would ride it some more before you decide to replace it.

I have a 2015 I think its the same though it was a bit stiff the first couple of rides but soften up plus I like the looks of it also vs anything else I've seen. Might get a back rest in the future sorta thought Harley would come up with one by now.

I took the progressive 940 shocks off the2010 street glide Before  I traded it  think I will give them a go on the cvo, can't get my head around only adjusting the pre load on one side, and give the seat some time to break in as suggested by 68xlch oh and I live in Tasmania Skycat..
Cheers

I would suggest to try a back rest with the stock CVO seat first before buying a new touring seat.  It helped me greatly with the lower back and "Butt " issues as well.  I do have a touring seat for when the other half rides along.  For the solo days and the looks of the bike when riding one up it was a quick fix for me.
