I'm suprised no one said this yet,  but the stock shocks (long ones) are supposed to have 10-15lbs in them.  The SEEG's have the lowered suspension that require 35-45 lbs (if memory serves), anyway,  the lowered shocks require more pressure than the regular bagger shocks that the MoCo puts stock on everything else.  Before you go long on the fancy stuff,  try a little more air (it's cheap!!!!)

Grover, are you getting the kit that is for Road King's ? I didn't see much info on the Platinum Air Ride web site. You have to use the contacts page. I went to www.choppersrus.com to get more info. They had some pictures and pricing. Do you know how much weight the kit adds to the bike ? I'll be curious to hear your feed-back.

I talked to a Dumb Ass Biker [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif], he has some great info & prices. I gave him a call today and he gave me some great info, a very friendly honest guy. I didn't ask him anything about the weight of the unit.

Here's the link http://dumbassbiker.com/store/page7.html

I was thinking about Legends or Progressive but two other guys highly recommended Platinum over them.

The Dumb Ass Biker told me to wait until March and get the new FX air ride. He said it's supposed to be the best yet & it's less money.

I'll be talking to a bike builder in my area and going to the International Cycle Show on Feb 12-14 before making my final decision.

Take care,

Grover

Several here have used the 440s at 12" or 12.5".  There is almost no difference in the look of the bike or difference to be measured from any static points on the bike.  So that distinction is to be made based more on where seat height is comfortable and other relative factors.  Probably a bgger choice to pay attention to is whether one does the "heavy duty" version or not.  That will depend on whether you like the rider firmer or less so, your weight, riding solo or with the added weight of a passenger, etc etc etc.

I personally tend to prefer a bit of a firmer ride.  I'm also personally rounder than I would be if I laid off the steak and twinkies.  So I used the heavy duty version.  For me it was a good option.  But it's very much a personal preference decision.

Wally's Cycle World has the best prices, I paid $388.00 a pair delivered.  440 12" standard duty (pn 440-4049B) in black.
