Gasket no issues as for piston in the hole deal you do understand that can and does change from engine to engine right?? These stock decks are not all the same mass produced. So I have seen where some are 6 down and the next one you do with the same legnth stock cylinder rod and pistons combo is 3.. and really 3 down is not worth making ANY changes to as you are checking cold you have no idea what it really is at normal temp and then you have to account for RPM that will in fact allow the piston tom come up further. You have pistons to pin + pin to rod + rod to crank pin.
Pump gas street engine Zero deck is not the big deal that so many make it to be.. We have tested engines that are 7 down vs one that we then zero decked swap the gasket and we are now right back at the same comp ratio but zero deck. End result nothing.. IF its down 5-7 then make it up in the chamber and call it good. Time to machine cylinder vs already decking the head . IF you can see the gains and you are picking up 4-6 then sure its a worth while effort . However its just not the case in 99% of the builds on a HD engine.
Now if you are building a drag race engine with big dome high comp ratio 13+ then sure now these tiny little things start to add up.
Tripping over a 20 dollar bill to pick up a penny.
