Talked to a local dealer today....my question was will this kit work with Twin Cooled 110's. His response was that it doesn't say it wont. Does anyone know for sure?  :nixweiss:

In the other 117 thread there is peace of HD literature that states the kit comes with both sets of head gaskets but I don't know how to copy it to this thread!   BostonBoy

Ok so the issue with twin cooled is this the cylinder must had a pad to support the gasket in the coolant area. Or you would have to weld or epoxy the bottom of the coolant passage in the head to stop it from leaking . Easy work around if the cylinder does not have the pad  example the 124 S&S cylinder and kit we installed on a Twin cooled CVO .  On the HD cylinder yes it does have the support pad from the pictures, and the specs      I do not have a set in my hands but can post up a pic when I do

Here is the fitment for the kit, shouldn't be any problem with the liquid cooled heads.

Same question for my CVO Ultra 2013. Are the 2014-up 110 CI engines different than the previous years ones?

I don't remember anything specific in engine changes  that wouldn't  let the kit work
I'm sure some one will chime in

Steve (GMR) when you have the parts in hand can you let us know head gasket thickness? Also how far down the pistons are? Many Thanks.

Gasket no issues as for piston in the hole deal you do understand that can and does change from engine to engine right??  These stock decks are not all the same mass produced. So I have seen where some are 6 down and the next one you do with the same legnth stock cylinder rod and pistons combo is 3.. and really 3 down is not worth making ANY changes to as you are checking cold you have no idea what it really is at normal temp and then you have to account for RPM that will in fact allow the piston tom come up further. You have pistons to pin + pin to rod + rod to crank pin.

Pump gas street engine Zero deck is not the big deal that so many make it to be.. We have tested engines that are 7 down vs one that we then zero decked swap the gasket and we are now right back at the same comp ratio but zero deck. End result nothing..  IF its down 5-7 then make it up in the chamber and call it good. Time to machine cylinder vs already decking the head . IF you can see the gains and you are picking up 4-6 then sure its a worth while effort . However its just not the case in 99% of the builds on a HD engine.

Now if you are building a drag race engine with big dome high comp ratio 13+ then sure now these tiny little things start to add up.

Tripping over a 20 dollar bill to pick up a penny.  :D

Can you use the pushrods in the kit if you use a thinner gasket or resurface the heads ?
