In 85, I bought a 78 F250 that someone had dropped in a 429. Think I paid about $4,000 at the time.  Truck was in good shape but motor needed a rebuild.  Dad worked in a body shop and his friend did a complete rebuild for $900.00 total.  Took it to Alaska when I got transferred in 86 and sold it to a high school kid in 92 when we got transferred to Michigan.  Loved that truck, just wish it had 4x4 in Alaska.

Nice find. Congrats.

the video is the quickest way to see the truck

and now the owner of the company is trying to make a deal on the 69 Chevy
I should get a kick back
plus I'm holding on the pick up details to see if I can get the carrier to cut us a deal  for two to the same drop off

This is working out pretty good

just sold a $350,000.00 job this morning before I had my first cup of coffee
the owner who has been sending me on wild goose chases looking for a 69' - 71 Chevy truck for him for the last 6 months
which I've tried after every view of "Craigslist" crap that he would still need to invest a ton of money into any like those to make
them worthy to drive and be seen in

finally excepted one of the finds I sent him, from the same place that I picked mine up so
we will be having them picked up together and I save on shipping now,
plus since he's a foreigner! I get to buy the truck as a "Company Vehicle"

not crazy about  the hood vent? but the rest of the truck is very well done

OK, Mike, that '69 Chevy looks pretty dang good even compared to your '78 Ford.  I'd have to flip a coin if it were between those two.  You and your boss will have to drag race to get bragging rights.... :2vrolijk_21:

However, if no coin involved and being I'm partial to the '68 through 71 Fords or Chevys, I would have to pick the '69 Chevy....no offense to your Ford, brother... ;D

No offense Haird
I've always been a Ford man, even if a mint Chevy is sitting side by side
I'm just glad I found a great deal for the owner so he's off my back about the cheap finds he's been sending me on.

I've done loads of these for myself and others and enjoy the hunt and challenge.

Yes, I think comparing the two the C10 is a better find and deal, you could not find a barn find and still stick 20 grand into it and still be something like the Chevy

But I'm happy with the classic 78' restored to original condition

All of the shows I went to with my 66, I would always win over these Chevy trucks because mine always looked like the one their father had!

Nice truck. I had a 71 Chevy super Cheyenne short bed back in the mid 80's. Never should have sold it. Kick myself in the arse every time I see one on the road. Enjoy
