Tuning Throttle Response - 58MM TB
« on: February 01, 2016, 10:31:13 AM »

I just want to confirm - I thought I had read this previously:

Is it possible to "numb" the throttle response slightly when installing a larger TB?

I recall in a previous motor of mine with a 58, the throttle was very touchy in parking log/ neighborhood situations.  Is it possible to tune out this touchiness with the SERT?

If so, how?

Thanks!

I am assuming a super tuner.

Yes.  You don't need more throttle than what will get you 100kpa.  Lower RPM area will get to 100% at lower throttle settings than at higher RPM's.  Opening the throttle more than is needed can introduce reversion and turbulence.  It can also kill the velocity of the incoming charge.

So, in return at the lower RPM and throttle settings.  You can slow down the throttle blade or restrict how for it will open so it doesn't go to 100kpa.

That's what I'm looking for. Should I assume a good size dealership knows how to do that or should I make some specific suggestions to that affect?
