it sure looks to me like they are pumping in oil, then turning it over - ?? :confused5:

I don't want to escalate the offtopicness but yes they do pump the oil in.......it isn't just the oil priming that makes me wonder though.

I've owned cvo's since 2000, I want to make sure all is good when doing any performance up grade,so If I keep it  or sale it,My self Or whoever buys it does not have to worry about the engine crapping out,I've sold two on this site,And remain friends with those people and see how my old bikes are doing,All work done by the shop I use H&D cylces Lillian Alabama ,and to this day all have not had any motor problems what so ever< been using them since 2004.That being said ,You want a  Great shop and In the area Talk to Heath Rogers at H&D cycles ,great tunner<little anal on his engine Builds, Find chit wrong before installing .Lol

checked piston to cylinder fitment and cylinder taper/ out of round and the results he found were not good. The cylinder had .0024 out of round at about 1.25" from bottom of spigot and .0036 at the bottom of the spigot. the cylinder also had .0022 taper on the thrust side and .0017 on the cam side. Both cylinders were bad but the specs I gave were the worst of the two.

Having work done by a reputable shop is unarguably sound reasoning. But the 117 kit and others are made as "drop-in" kits so the buyers can have their local dealer install them, supposedly trouble free. Mine was done before all this talk about out of round cylinders. Sad to see your cylinders are out of round. Mine are in and done. Time will tell. Can only hope out of round cylinders are the vast exception to the rule. Hope to hear from others soon.

Measured with torque plates?

If torque plates could effect that amount of out of round and that amount of taper, then there's a bigger issue going on!   :)

Torque plates may change the readings by tenths, but not by thousands...    :2vrolijk_21:

That's what I've been mystified by in this whole discussion.  Something else has to be too thin/weak/something for the torque plates to make the significant difference that HD is apparently suggesting is the case here.  Also, if things can be moved that much with a standard torqued straight edge (torque plate) and then not be moved by some other torque plate (that Harley apparently hasn't supplied to anyone?) I have to strongly wonder what they are doing so special or unique with the new plate?  Given Harley's know predisposition toward changing a spec to "fix" a problem rather than actually just fixing the problem one can't help but wonder what the new tool and it's combined specifications will be and if their goal is to mask rather than actually fix?
