The stock 110 cylinders are cast iron lined and much thicker walled; the drop on 117 cylinders are tool steel lined and much thinner walled.  I'll let the experts on here determine if they can and should be measured the same way.

I don't understand the reason for the "special torque plates"
Are not the steel lined barrels bolted to the bike between aluminium heads and block using the same studs, torque procedure and values as cast iron sleeved barrels?
Will have to wait and see what wonders arise I suppose.
Well let's see.......... If the torque plates are different, the next question would be: Are we supposed to use special MoCo head gaskets, so as not to distort the cylinders ???   :nixweiss: Sounds like BS to me.  ::)

It doesn't matter
They still are sandwiched between the same heads and base (the case) with the same bolts and gaskets
Out of round is out of round. Come on now!

I have 800 miles on my 117 with no problems. Hopefully, that's a good sign.

RoadDawg I hope you have a good set. I really want the extra cubes but I don't want or need the problems. I will be on the other side of the country in June and the last thing I want is a problem. I guess I need to sit down in the shop with a George Dickel and Ginger Ale and have a prayer meeting. I may just pop them on and try it with the stock TB and 5.3 injectors and the Kury cams and see what happens.

Time will tell.

It might be interesting if one of the big shops had a trashed 110 case... that they could cut away somewhat to allow bolting up a cylinder BOTH cylinders, with a 110 heads, torqued to spec and be able to have enough clearance to operate a bore gauge through the bottom to get the most real-world measurement possible.

No doubt, some would say that the case being skeletonized would negate the exercise but I dont think it would.  Anyone up for that?

I was the first on the forum to have the 117 kit installed. That was one month ago as of today and before any talk about out of round cylinders. I ran it full throttle for several 0 to 70 romps after it was dyno tuned. Rear wheel grabbed on shift to second. Also, like I said, I have 800 miles on the engine with no problems. But I can understand how you would be leery about the install after all the talk. I sure hope this gets settled soon. Funny, but if we weren't reading any forum threads about this issue we wouldn't have a thing to worry about. Hmmm...is that a good thing?

Only case I have is a 120r. I have a 1" piece of 6061 that I use and will bolt a head to it with factory bolts and studs instead of the torque plate. Understand torque plates change tenths not thousandths ime.
