I think your just posting here because you like to hear yourself type!!! you are speaking out both sides of your mouth at the same time, as my mom always said, you can't have your cake and eat it too!!! but then again I am not sure what the hell "execution of engineering" really is. I have had pretty good success with the product (knock on wood) and will continue using them. You question the quaility, I don't know maybe you got a lemon, but the majority of the people I deal with (I believe that includes a few members of this site) seem to think that the quaility and engineering are quite amazing from the MOCO. So lets simplify this, if you want to wine about warranty issues that's kewl we all have horror stories to share, but if you want to bad mouth harley engineering and quaility you are probably in the wrong place!!! in my 30 years of riding harleys the engineering and quaility are magnitudes better than my first scooter and all I see is a company that continues improve all these issues...
I do not own HD stock, I do not have any family who does (that I know of) and I don't even know any body who works for the company at the corporate level, I just am one of those finatical harley owners who feels very passionate about my scooter so you want to talk about my wife that's one thing but don't say anything bad about my scooter cause thems fighting words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for your reply.
My issue with engineering is that many times they have been forced to cheapen what they have designed as right by accounting. Examples of this are: in chroming, in painting, in electrical, in guages and in brakes.
The compromise solution that evolves from this has not always been in the best interest of the consumer or the performance of the bike. Ultimately, when coupled with difficulty in attaining satisfaction in a timely manner, this diminishes the ownership experience.
The quality issue that I have raised deals with a problem that seems to exist with the outsourced vendors/manufacturers that are supplying the MoCo. I fault H-D for having a cumbersome process for the consumer to endure to get satisfaction. It seems that the dealerships have a hard time with the claims when a particular bike comes in with repeat claims for the same part. I am not anti-CVO nor am I anti H-D. I am against cumbersome business practices that reduce the joy in owning a CVO.
Thanks
Mike
