Man hits guard rail and flips end over end over that culvert.
Do you think he had an angel on his shoulder?

Wow. That is real luck.  I am sure statistically there was like 1 chance in 100 he could do that.

The things that can happen on the road are so incredibly unexpected sometimes that if you didn't see the aftermath you'd swear it just couldn't have happened.  Just last year while travelling on the red bike I was next to this one.

The semi was in the left lane and started moving gradually farther and farther left.  I assume the driver went to sleep but after the fact one can't honestly know for sure.  The concrete "ledge" leading to this bridge abutment got inside the left front wheel of the tractor and this is all that was left after it nosed directly in to the end of the bridge at highway speed.  When it hit I was in the right lane just about even with it.

You see that and you think the cab must be smashed beneath the truck.  But instead some brilliant highway engineer designed a lead in to the bridge that guided whatever hits it back toward the road.  The trucks inertia was such that it easily overcame the concrete guide and went right on down the hill.  But when the frame of the tractor hit the end it broke off and travelled on down the bridge by itself; in the direction that guiding concrete pointed it.  So after the unbelievable load crash this is what I watched in my left mirror chasing me across the bridge.

Look where the stuffed animal ended up.

I stopped just up the road and came back to the cab.  The driver was understandably shook up, didn't really know what had just happened, and was without injury.  I was expecting the worst.  He didn't want to leave the cab of his truck.  But once I got him out he just walked away.  That stuffed animal brought the guy a little luck that day.

Not just lived but uninjured.  The cab flew the first little bit then just slid the length of the bridge.  Came to a top where you see and never spun a full revolution.  Just broke off the frame and traveled down the road.  When I ran back to the cab I opened the door (yes, it still mostly worked) and found the guy just sitting there.  A bit dazed.  Wondering what happened.  But just fine.  It was a weird wreck.

Salvage yard is right too.  I took a bunch of other pics also.  There are cab and motor and other bits the full length of that bridge.

Probably so Scot.  But as it was I really wasn't even close.  The truck moved off the road to the left and I was just about even with his right front wheel as he popped the bridge.  The cab couldn't accelerate faster than the truck it had been part of had been going so all it could really do was chase me on across the bridge.  If I'd been back at his rear tandems or a bit farther it might have been hairy.  As is all it was was loud.  When he hit the end of the bridge it sounded about the same as being hunkered down just barely far enough from a 500 pounder going off.
