SE Pro 58mm TB/intake vs. HPI 58mm intake
« on: March 23, 2016, 01:01:46 PM »

I am currently running a SE Pro 58mm TB/intake with stock injectors on my 110.

Knowing that I’ll need a 58mm TB/intake with 5.3 injectors for an upcoming 117 build, I am wondering if the HPI 58mm TB/intake is ~$600 better than the my current SE Pro 58mm TB/intake.

Any thoughts?

Are you going to have a 117 and a 110 or are you turning your 110 into a 117?  If later is the case.  I don't see a huge bang for the buck into stepping into the better HPI 58.  I have seen the SE 58 support over 135hp.  It won't be a choke point.

I don't know the specs but I have the HPI 58 and it looks very well engineered. And the price has gone up.

For the 117,  I sent my SE 58mm to T-Man for Port matching and polishing when he did the heads. I think he charged me around $100. I don't feel like I'm leaving anything on the table, definitely not $500 worth...

I dont think the HPI is worth it, have a few of them for cabled models.   I went the way of sending my 110 stock 50mm to S&S for the 58mm throttlehog.   They turned it around quickly and work great.

I also had my SE match ported as I can't justify the addl costs of the HPI..

Then I think I'll just stay with the SE Pro 58mm since I already have it.

Thanks for the Input,
