Im not officially a CVO owner yet, but it looks like I will be in the next month. Im trading in my Road King at a huge loss. Im told the CVO holds its value a bit longer... How much can I expect too lose after riding off the lot? lol
2016 CVO Street Glide

First....welcome to the site.  I've found over the years that it costs more to trade up than to start out with what will satisfy you in the first place. If you buy a car or bike that's not your dream you will spend more money trying to build it into what you want than if you just buy your dream to begin with (assuming you don't break the bank....or marriage).  When my wife wanted a Mustang she was happy with her GT....until she saw the Shelby. When I wanted a Challenger, I had to get the SRT8.  I've spent way too much money adding farkles to non-CVO Harley's to not just bite the bullet and get the CVO and be done with it, well sort of done with it.  I spend far fewer dollars modding my CVO's than any other Harley I've ever owned.  I get more of those dollars back when I sell my CVO's also.  Disclaimer...how I spend my money is not necessarily how you should spend yours. Spend your money to make you happy, not someone else.

Welcome to the forum from Maine PapaLeo67! CVO's hold their value to a point, but don't buy one thinking of it as an investment, especially if you mod it...

Welcome to the best forum on the web for CVO owners; coming at you from the clear lakes and twisty roads of the Ozark Mountains of northern Arkansas!

We hope you'll check out the threads regarding our CVO Harley Get-Togethers (GTG's).  We have an annual GTG out west, one in the Smokies, and one (our first ever) in Eureka Springs, AR in June of 2017 dubbed the "Meet in the Middle" or MITM.  We will have others as time goes along.  We encourage you to participate if you can make it!

Congratulations on your new CVO to be, and glad to have you with us!

And, as all of us have found out, trading in back to a dealer usually provides the worst payback of any method of getting rid of an old bike.  It'll likely be the same when it comes to your CVO, unfortunately.

Its not a loss if you consider the fun factor, friends, experiences etc!  We all could have more expensive vices and nothing to show for it!  Welcome from Southern Iowa!

welcome to the site!! Cvo's do hold their value better mainly because you done lose your tail on add ons like you would with a regular model bike. but don't be fooled just bc its loaded to the gills with goodies you will still end up spending money on acc... good luck man.
