Need Air Horn Help
« on: April 21, 2016, 10:10:27 AM »

Hey guys I need some in put on a project. MY 09 SERG has a procharger so horn location is an issue. I have a air ride system on the bike with a tank and compressor so I'm looking for a different location to mount my air horn. I do not need to use a current airhorn with the built in compressor unless new location  has the space and have a guy with equipment and skills if I need a bracket for new location. Nothing in or around the bags. Just wondering if anyone has tackled this problem? Looked at a long truck horn but it had no piece in the trumpet to block water or bugs. Anyone with experience or advice?

I'm gonna' put a set on Maybelle, too, when I get a chance.  Probably Daytona, in October.  I had a set of BJ's on Ol' Maudie, and the compressor went under the seat.  I mounted them the same place the stock horn was.  Not much help to ya', but that's all I know.  Later--HUBBARD

Not sure what you mean by "long truck horn". If you're talking about an actual full size truck horn, they sell chrome covers for them at any truck chrome shop

I really don't anything particular in mind. I'm just not limited by size because current horn location I don't think will work unless I make another bracket on the jug brace for a horn Current location is where the pulley bracket is for the blower!

Had a set of Train horns on my house boat but they were close to 3 1/2 feet long and ran off CO2. Probably would push the bike backwards.  Loud as Hell though you could hear them all over Lake Cumberland.

I've got these laying around after I sold my lifted Avy I'll make you a deal on if you can figure out where to mount them, a 3 gal tank and a big ass compressor.  :2vrolijk_21:

A. what size horn?
B. are you hoping to *hide* the horn?
C. the only hidden space on the bike (where I p[laced some horns on my Ultra) is behind the bags... and you struck that whole area from the list, so...

below the air cleaner?

Surley what I can tell you is the current location would be tough and be small. With the procharger on the bike there is not much room on that size unless I move it up closer to the tank and connect it to the brace that goes between the cylinders. Only reason I said bigger is I now have a compressor on the bike and a air tank so I don't have to be choosy about buying a horn that has it own compressor. Under the bags could work just not in the bag as long as it would fit with out dragging!

There is a small amount of room behind the bags, more on the right than left..and here's what I put there. The same space could likely be used to mount a pair of the small FIAMM air horns, one on each side.

That's really the only hidden space on the bike other than under the Tour pak. Any other place, you'll just need to decide how much of a statement you want to make.
I saw a shovel FL, once, with a truck horn on each side of the front fender....

actually just found this at eglidegoodies...

Well I have been know to make a statement every now and then. I was going to tell you that behind both bags are already occupied. RIght side has the compressor and left has the tank. My 09 has abs. I wonder if somewhere on the frame up front around the floorboards would be ok??
