Hello From Londonderry, NH
« on: April 23, 2016, 06:39:01 AM »

Hi, my name is Rick and I am from Londonderry, New Hampshire.

I loved reading the FXRS thread on the site and figured I would contribute a few images of mine. I have a 1985 FXRS-SP that is is amazing condition.

The only real modification other than the cosmetic swaps like the derby cover is the Kuryakyn Hypercharger. I have the original cover, but this was on the bike when I got it, and I like the way it looks even if it does nothing.

My ultimate goal is to find out what I need to mount side bags. I do not want to drill any holes on the bike, but would love to have a good set of bags. I have heard a few other responses on other threads, but I am curious as to what is the best way to do this. I am not opposed to changing out the shock mounts if necessary and will save the originals.

Hello and welcome to the forum from Maine Rick! I use under the seat bags on my '86 FXR and have for years. Easy on/off, but I did install bag guards on either side to keep them off the shocks/wheel. Don't have a good close up image, but found a few from 2015 when the bike was loaded for a run up the coast - see attached.
