Congratulations!!   :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

We rode Jacksonville to San Diego a few years ago in 47 hours.  Winds were bad east of San Diego coming in and also in TX/NM.  Took it easy getting home, 3 days to get back.

Thanks. Working on a Silver Lever Mile Eater Certificate. I've done the two insane rides now just need 3 'plain' rides before March. I plan on doing 3 in State (TN, AR & MS) SS1000s. After the riding and rally season is over.

I understand about wind. We left Sunday at 0330 and the weather channel was predicting 75+mph wind gusts in NM on Tuesday! I have ridden too much in the wind, so next trip to the northeast! I hate the wind! I was riding across ND at 70mph and the wind was blowing sideways and whistling thru my bike! I was in WY coming back from AK and basically all the roads had big lighted signs saying 35+mph wind gusts. Did I say I hate the wind!

Yes, in WY we were blown literally sideways almost off the road late one afternoon.  Semis were blowing over on I-80. Not fun. The trade off is friendlier speed limits in the western states & less congestion in the deserts - with wind - vs the east with lower speed limits and sometimes more rain but less wind.

Have not done an Ironbutt in a while.  After the 50 cc & the 1500 & 2000 mile deals have not sent anything else in to IBA after a long ride.  Good way to clear the head and see a lot in a short time.
