JCZ, I am hear!

Pierce eye, the 103 that was in the CVO is just fine in a trike conversion. I still have and ride the 2006 in the photo. It has now been cross USA cost to cost a total of 6 trips. With Sue and I on and loaded, it will run 90 all day, up and down hills not a problem. we normally ride at  72 to 80.

now for the 103 that H-D puts in their trike, it is not the same to me. We own one at the shop, needed to buy one so we could make a IRS kit for it as we got many calls from owners that wanted to change the straight axel out and have IRS. With Sue and I on it and not loaded for a trip it will just make it to 70-72 and that's it. It might be with the way H-D has to build it for the EPA and all. I have never looked into what cams, heads and other parts it has that are not the same as our CVO 103 but something is not the same.

best to buy the CVO you want and install a conversion, sell the left over new parts and you should get back $3000.to 4,000. on the parts.

Now, who's conversion to buy.....I tell everyone it is your money (about 14,000 to 16,000 to convert) you need to try and ride each MFG so you know what each can and can't do. look at fit and finish, the trunk is a big deal as you will go in and out of it each time you ride. some are only about the size of the two bags you took off, they still have the drop down door (get on your knees to load and unload it )

you and go to www.dfttrikes.com and see ours.

Although I trader her for the new SG back in the fall I have to say she was a dream to drive and ride.  You will spend $15 or more for the conversion but there are many things to consider.  First, I recouped around 6,000 selling parts that were no longer required from the original bike after the conversion took place by Hannigan.  The fully independent rear suspension is something to behold as far as ride and handling.  It makes HD seem like a dinosaur.  With the TTS, Fullsac Headers, and inserts she pulled like a team of horses.  I originally moved this way due to blowing a Knee out, but after very successful surgery I decided to go back to 2 wheels for a while again plus I wanted to upgrade to the Rushmore features.  All said and done if HD does not move towards independent rear suspension and other comforts on their Tri Glides I would do the conversion again in a second.

That's pretty sweet

Fred got me looking at the Hannigan site

Pierce, they have a few turn-key conversions for sale with one being a 2008 CVO:

And this beauty....dang that Indian Chieftain makes a beautiful trike.

Hannigan would be my first choice in trike kits.  The independent suspension is a joy to ride.  Friend had his wing converted and I had the pleasure of riding it.  Nice.

One more:  Looks like Hannigan is branching into the "two up front" for the GW's.  Interesting look and good forward thinking (pardon the pun) on their part.

I love the look of the Indian conversion

Thanks Dean.............I with my wife (Sue also LoL) can cruise at 70-75 just fine and loaded both trunks for a 3 dayer, My problems comes when I need to pass a semi if I am doing much more than 60 it just doesn't have the get up and go needed to pass one safely

Its a 14 so may see what comes out in 17 and then decide convert one or.....

I appreciate your input.. I like that IRS for the Tri Glide
