Inspiration Point – The Mack Daddy!

Inspiration Point consists of three levels that provide varied spectacular perspectives of the main amphitheater.  You cannot help but be inspired considering the intricacies of the hoodoos!  Not to mention the hairdos too!

After leaving Bryce Canyon National Park my travels would take me down Highway 12 through Escalante and more Dixie National Forest.

Here the weather and terrain begin to change.  Had to stop and put on the leathers.

The rain was starting to come in ever so slightly…

After a turn onto Highway 24, I came upon Capitol Reef National Park

[Jock]

Still trying to outrun the precipitation…Here the leathers would come off again.

My day would conclude in Moab were I would begin my day in…

Even at 8am the line to enter into the park is forming…

Welcome to the Park Avenue Trail.  A moderate hike along the canyon floor with some close up looks of fins, rocks and monoliths.

[Jock]

On the other side of the trail we will find some snowcapped mountains still in view through the haze.

[Jock]

In a distance you can see Delicate Arch.  Two trails are available to hike to the arch.  The top of this arch is five foot thick.

Devils Garden is available by walking down this trail. 

[Jock]

If you plan to walk to Devils Garden be prepared.  It is over 11 miles round trip but along the way you will find…
