117 Bolt On Kit install... Fat Cat or Boarzilla?
« on: June 01, 2016, 11:18:34 PM »

Going with the 117 bolt on kit for my new '16 CVO Street Glide stock 110 and figuring whether to go Fat Cat or Boarzilla.
Any guesses if the 117 is enough engine for the Zilla?
Any experience with sound between these two pipes on a 110 and up?

Thanks, my first post and would love to hear everyone's thoughts!

If you go by D&D's web site 116ci and above Boarzilla, with that being said I have the Boss Fat Cat on my 117 build, Don't think the Boarzilla was available with I did the build. the Boarzilla has larger header pipes and collector the muffler inlet is the same on both. and there is no quite baffle option for the Boar.

Maybe that changed as I have the quiet baffle in my Boarzilla. Witout it is hella loud.

D&D probly looks at as if you need that big of a pipe there is no need for quite hahahaha. probly just not recommended for all out performance.  I believe the mufflers are the same due to the inlet size 2.5" being the same on both head pipes. for the Boss fat cat they offer a louvered and wrapped (quite muffler 96"-103") . Other than that you can get the perforated wrapped or non wrapped for both systems (96"-131") I will have to look think I have the perforated wrapped baffle on mine. I think it mostly depends on the build, head flow, noise level, etc as to which one will work the best. I would be interested to install the Boarzilla head pipes on my motor to see if it makes a difference.

The Boarzilla is easy to spot as it has a sort of side cut at the end verses the way the cut is on the Fat Cat. When I ordered mine I didn't know the difference until it arrived. I have a 131 motor and only went that way as the Zilla was recommended at the time.

I had an Fullsac "B". X-pipe and Fullsac CVO 2.25" & 2.50" baffles when I had my 110" motor.

Since the upgrad to the 117" kit, I started off with the above, but I now changed to the Fullsac "D" X-pipe and 2." CVO baffles.

Very, very happy!

Boarzilla too big for a 117, go with fact with performance baffle if you like bark or quiet baffle if you don't.
