Harley makes metal topper kits.  Can use more than once.  Highly recommended.

I bought my last set for my new bike from Harley, before that I bought the set from J&P cycles in Iowa. I always use a small dab of silicone to hold them on, they make a huge difference!

I bought some toppers called "Shiny nutz" ,or something like that, off eBay. Pretty much the same thing and quality, surprisingly, seems pretty good.

X2 Shiny Nutz.  Sells on EBay.  Had these on last 2 bikes and on wife's.  They are plastic but lasted great and easy on pocket book.  You can get small to large kit to cover what ever you want.

We are writing to you as a good customer of Hot Toppers, Inc.
After 19 years – Hot Toppers, Inc. will be closing our doors .
We developed a product, made it here in the USA and maintained our quality against cheap China copies. After Harley-Davidson insisted that their dealers could only show the China copies – we are giving up the fight.
Our doors will be closing at the end of 2013. If you had your eye on any product, or anything from our collection – you have only a few days left to get it. We will be open for sales through December 27th.
Happy Holidays,
Hot Toppers, Inc."

Harley dealers were selling full kits for approx 120.00 if I remember. . That's really nuts when the the Chinese imitators were getting so little for the same thing. . A cap that you silicone on is a cap that you silicone on. . I couldn't tell the difference and never had any issues with them. . . I couldn't see how they would last. . Just my. 02. Stuart.

Used Shiny Nutz, because of the price, and have not had a problem. Anyone that buys stuff at a HD store is paying far to much. Was on the way to Daytona several years back and stopped at a rest area and 2 HD 18 wheelers pulled in, I mentioned to one driver that I would like to get my hands on his cargo.......he says "Why, you couldn't wear that many T shirts in 10 lifetimes"
