Holy $#!^; my new fairing cap came in last Saturday and it is perfect! This is the first painted part I've gotten for this bike that was right the first time!
Hell, I expect that the law of averages was with me on this one! [smiley=beerchug.gif]

Got a call from the shop yesterday that my 2nd replacement saddlebag was in, ( the original saddlebag was damaged when the shop pushed it into a wall and the 1st replacement had a chunk of dirt in the back of the bag).
We opened the box at the parts counter and looked the new bag over, looked pretty good, then I flipped the bag over and the bottom looked like someone had slid it across the parking lot. Obviously this was a damaged used bag.
Now waiting for bag replacement #3.
At least the MOCO is consistent with this, (consistently poor quality control that is).

Mobe I'm thinkin the dealership should handle your bike with TLC from this point going forward. I guess that's the up side. [smiley=laugh.gif]

OK, now I get it, it's all part of the experience and ties us all to the past Harley riders from the 70's, and allows us to "feel their pain".
I wonder if they will introduce a radical paint set that's red white and blue with AMF emblems on the tank?
I can't wait for the reintroduction of the "ham can" air cleaner cover. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Well got a call from the dealer and my right hand saddlebag came in.
 This is saddlebag #3.
Happy to report that it is perfect.  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] [smiley=balloon2.gif]
Whew, after only 8 months all of the paint on my bike is perfect.  [smiley=beerchug.gif]
Heck I'm kind of scared to ride it now.

 Aw who am I kidding.

I slapped that new bag on and have been riding the heck out of it all day long. [smiley=sunny.gif]

For those of you who have only just tuned in, here is the final tally.

3 Gas tanks (Paint defects).
4 front fenders (paint defects).
1 fairing cap (my fault).
3 right saddlebags (damaged by the dealer after they installed tank #3 and front fender#4).

Even after all of this it's still my favorite bike. [smiley=beerchug.gif]

Glad that ordeal is finally behind you Mike.  Not sure if "congratulations" is the right thing after all that.  But for lack of anything better congrats on finally getting it all buttoned up.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

This news is almost as good as JR getting  his yellow bike!  Glad to hear things are finally sorted out with your paint issues, mobe.  You, too, have been incredibly patient! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Yup, I've checked into the lemon law. In Missouri it specifically excludes, " motorcycles and recreational vehicles".
Oh well, that tank was getting dirty anyway, time for a new one.
