Front Right Speaker Stopped working
« on: July 17, 2016, 11:27:24 AM »

Long story, but I recently had to replace my key lock module. I don't think that has anything to do with it but my right front speaker stopped working yesterday. I pulled the speaker and tested it by plugging it into the left side wiring and it worked. That tells me that the speaker is fine. I called my service guy at HD and he said it is most likely the AMP. He said very seldom is it the head unit. Before I go spending another $400 I was wondering if anyone has had this happen to them. I checked the wiring as much as I could. It's a big strand mixed in with other that runs under the head unit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I did have this happen and I like you connected the rt speaker to the left and it worked. Then I went ahead and got an appointment and had HD replace the amp (warranty). No problems since.

Yep.  Left side (rear and front) inop.  Amp replaced.   Originally, I didn't realize that the rear left was out too, so I figured it was the speaker as I did have a bad one when I first got the bike.

Anyway, I now have the amp replaced under ESP and two spare speakers.    ;D
