Well it's like this, my last ride was on my way home from the pre-NMITM GTG on the 22nd of May.
Just got back from a 42 mile secondary road ride. She is a beauty ain't she...
That next weekend on Monday Memorial Day I had another dizzy attack/episode or Vertigo. I had had two over Thanksgiving weekend in '14, but nothing since, so I was in a good riding place. But when I had the next episode that Memorial Day, I decided that I should not ride again until I found out what was going on. When an episode hits me, everything starts to spin around and I cannot focus my eyes or make things stop spinning. At that point I cannot stand up. It usually gives me about 10 to 15 seconds of warning before things go out of focus and start to spin.
I've had a MRI of the head, and yes, they did find a brain in there, but they would not attest to how good it might be...

All of my head scans, both with and without contrast, was normal. Then off to the ENT for more testing. I had a full hearing work up and she thought I "might" have an inner left ear issue. So I was scheduled back in a week to have an ENG test that basically rules out more than it confirmed. The results said no signs of nay Vertigo or inner ear issues. She said that I could ride, but I may have another episode at any time, no warning nor could she give me anything to prevent one.
So I'm really no better off now than when it all started up again. I also had another episode about 1:30 am on the 11th that basically took me down all day. If I sat up, I'd throw up. If I stood up to walk I'd get dizzy and almost fall down, so most of the day sick and laying down. Tuesday wasn't much better, but not sick, only dizzy.
Anyway, today I ventured out on the old '76 FLH with the wife. I had practiced pulling over quickly to see how quick I could do it in fairly slow riding speeds, below 50 mph etc on country roads. I could get over and stopped in about 10 to 15 seconds, just about the amount of time I have when an episode hits and the world starts spinning on me.
No problems, just a normal ride on the ole bike. I figured I would leave the SERG in the garage as it's a bit more of a handful if something happens. We were both glad to be out again.
My primary saw me again Friday for a full work up and EKG. So far there everything there was normal too. She did say however that some therapy on my inner ears might help. To put it in down and dirty terms, she wants me to have my ear crystals aligned. Apparently there are calcium deposits in the inner ear someplace that can break lose and get over someplace they're not supposed to be. This can give you a dizzy feeling and could make one nauseous. So having some head therapy to rotate, tilt, twist ect, I'm going to have several sessions to see what happens. It cannot hurt a thing, so I'm good to try anything that might help me out.
I sucks getting old...
