Last Hayden M6 for me
« on: August 18, 2016, 04:18:38 PM »

Installed Hayden M6. After 3,000 miles chain slapping like mad off idle even though I had the correct tolerance of 3/8 inch. Pulled primary cover and here is what I found. Emailed Hayden with no reply. Could not find broken parts of shoe so hopefully they came out with the draining of the fluid.

FYI: I see on hear alot where one of us has emailed something or the other company and has no response. I have family that has mulitple retail businesses. One of the cuts they have made is a person taking time to monitor emails. It had just become to time consuming and for the most part the info folks wanted was available if they just checked or looked online and they say they see no difference in total business as a result of this.
They still answer the phone and try to answer or return all calls, just no emails.
Not saying I agree, just if they are doing this I am sure others are as well.

Sadly there are many companies much larger than Hayden that put email and chat links in the "contact us" area of their websites to make people think they care and will gladly answer your questions in 24 hours or less, only to never respond to your emails or to leave you hanging without a response if you try the chat link.  I've had that experience just this week with Walgreens, Samsung, and AT&T, and I've had the same thing happen many times with these and other companies over the past couple years.  Real customer service is on life support and fading fast.

I wonder if that lady from Hayden who was always jumping into threads to push her products is still around and will jump in on this one to offer assistance?

I have had 3 Hayden primary chain adjusters and all 3 have worked out fine. 2 of the 3 bikes have several thousand miles on them and have lived up to my expectations.

The 09 has >50k miles on the stock auto tensioner, no direct or related issues, the shoe still looked great at inspection at 40k...

That is why I went back to stock. Very little wear at 40,000. When will I ever learn to leave things along?  "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Strange way to operate a business.

They were good back in the day, but in recent years I've had the feeling it had been taken over by people who didn't really give a chit.  I noticed that Kathy from Hayden, who used to spout off on this site whenever someone mentioned chain tensioners, hasn't posted anything in a year or more.  Definitely sounds like a company fading into the sunset.
