Engine builder in Northern California
« on: September 04, 2016, 05:09:54 PM »

Hello,

I'm looking for references on an engine rebuilder in Northern California. My 09 FLHTCUSE4 needs to be freshened up and the transmission could use new bearings.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey Bill.....haven't heard from you in quite awhile.

Most of the Nor Cal (and a few of us from So Cal) go to Jim (hd-dude on this forum) over at Metal Dragon in Hayward.  He does it all and has done a number of the motors of members on this forum.

Hi JC,

Ended up getting an 09 CVO Electra Glide, I have an engine noise and the dealer said it's normal. I would like to have a qualified mechanic check it out and I am hearing bearing whine from the tranny, when I let off the throttle.

Did you move to San Diego?

Yes, I've been down here for about 2 yrs. and 9 months.  Job transfer.

Didn't ride for a few years due to back issues.  Andy kept trying to tell me it was due to the stiffer ride of the Street Glide, the thinner seat, etc. etc.   I had one of his Ultra Classics down here with me.  Eventually I rode it and no back issues, so I'm back up on two wheels.

I'll send you a PM with Jim's number.
