FXDFSE baffle removal
« on: September 08, 2016, 12:21:37 PM »

I found a set of trophies on the net and elected to explore baffle removal from an additional set of stock pipes. Drilling the rivets wasn't bad after I determined the best size bit and tapping the baffles out wasn't hard with a wooden dowel. I replaced my stock pipes with the baffle-less cans to look stock and am not unpleased with the sound. After a few hundred miles I don't notice a difference in mileage.

I also ordered a set of Big City Thunder mini Q baffles to install in the head pipe to quiet the sound if needed, held off on that because drilling a hole in the head pipe was required and I wanted to be able to replace the standard stock mufflers as desired.

Any cons regarding lack of baffles in a similar set of stock mufflers?
