I have a 2015 CVO Limited. I changed out the mufflers to a pair of cvo cans I had, which were modified with Fulsac cores. These were also used on my last bike and I boxed up the cans that came on this bike. Been on the bike for about a year and a half ago.
I developed a squeak on my last trip that seems only I can hear and it has been driving me nuts. Traced it to the left muffler and after checking heat shields hangers etc. I pulled the core out and discovered all the packing is gone. How does that happen? I put these together and packing was in place at the time.
so my dilemma is. Do I just re=pack these or get a new kit from Fulsac and Mod the mufflers I took off this bike?

If the cores themselves are in good shape, just repack them.

Are you running the core sleeves too?

I've been running the Fullsac cores with screens for about a year. I frequently find muffler packing stuck on the outer pipe of the baffle core at the end of muffler.  Not sure how it gets by the solid plate at the rear of the core, maybe small pieces work their way around the flanges of the core.  I do think my mufflers are gradually getting louder.  I have 2 inch and 1.75 inch cores and have decided the 1.75 are easier on my ears at cruising speeds.  Do love the sound of the 2 inch though.

I've been using this stuff on a couple of bikes with great success.

Use the oem or Fullsac screens to keep it up against the outer wall and away from the core (little air gap there) and it seems to work fine.
BTW, the Fullsac screens are mucho better quality than the oem type

That's why we had Techmat blankets made just for the CVO mufflers.

I think your correct.  Have a set with packing from an 09 CVO, these have just under 100K miles on them, all the packing still there.  My 15 with with 40K miles I had to put new packing in the left side, about 50% of it just gone.

Thanks Steve. I saw those on your website. But it says you will not ship to Ca. I am guessing that only applies to the Cores. I have the screens and that is what is rattling around in there without packing. I ordered a roll of the Techmat. I will have to visit your shop and get another set of cores for the other mufflers I have. Building a house in Havasu soon
