Which Custom Dynamics turn signals? I'm so confused... :-)
« on: September 16, 2016, 03:21:06 PM »

I've searched, read the factory wires are short, read we may use a different plug, I'm confused.

Can somebody help me with which lamp I need, and will I need a load equalizer?

I want to replace the stock front turn signals with the white/amber lights, unless there is something better to replace them with????

2011 SESG

Thanks!!

I installed kit P-204-1077, simple plug and play, no wire changing, just remove the bulb and the socket goes in like a lamp does

Call Custom Dynamics at 800-382-1388.  They are awesome to work with!  They will walk you through it based on your bike year whether you need load equalizing.  I have them in m 15 CVOSG and I didn't need them.  Mine is CANBUS, however, I needed to let the turn signals communicate with the ECM by turning the hazards on for 5 minutes then shutting off and thats it.  Before doing that, the bike would flash fast when signal were on, now they are normal after the initializing process...

I replaced the stock incandescents on my 2013 with the dynamic ringz (white running light, amber turn signal).  it was a very simple swap, they plug in to the socket just as your incandescent does.  then you just twist the circuit board to keep the wiring out of the way, and the lens holds it secure.

the one I got was the gen200-a-1157e3

I did have to use a signal stabilizer, otherwise the turn signals would sometimes work right, sometimes not.  it was a very easy install as well.

Talked to CD and got some part numbers, she wasn't 100% confident sounding about me needing the load equalizer though. Anybody with a 2011 SESG?

Lights GEN200-AW-1157
Load EQ GEN2-SS8

Yes.  You need the load equalizer. . . Or the turn signals will flash way too fast. . The lights will install like an 1157 bulb. .  very easy. .  Stuart.

yep, you'll need the signal stabilizer.  your bike is very much like mine, even though it's a 2011 and mines a 2013.

:2vrolijk_21:

The CAN bus bikes do not require load equalizers, previous models do.  So a 2013 or earlier Touring model should require an equalizer.

As for the Custom Dynamics website and trying to figure out what is what, good luck with that.  The site is long on graphics and descriptions, but short on specific fitments.  Thus the need to give them a call, which in fact they encourage.
