Can it be used to plug a cable like this to charge your phone?

Don't you have a usb in the dash compartment that will charge your phone? And a fake cig lighter plug that will do the same thing with a $2.00 USB adapter. The cable in the photo has to cost more than a few bucks. Why?

It was just a matter of convenience because my phone is mounted on the left side of the bike.
Additionally I am using a thumb drive in the USB port inside the Jukebox cover so I couldn't use that.
What I actually did is run my cigarette lighter charger adapter and snaked a USB cable from that side in behind the fairing out the other side by the clutch cable and ran it up to the phone and it worked out perfectly.

Sounds good, I saw at Biketoberfest a GW with a 8" square solar panel mounted on the upper dash that was connected to what looked like a phone cradle.
I asked about it and as it turns out the phone was stolen, for the second time.
