Did a search on "Compensaver", mostly older info. Anyone running one on their Rushmore CVO? Feel like its necessary? GMR website recommends to install w/new compensator or very low miles. I'm coming up on 10K on '15 FLTRUSE... wonder how low is "low mileage"?
I also get some "slapping" noise in the primary when shifting a lower speeds. I've been considering putting in a different chain tensioner as well.
Make sure the chain has the proper tension and the tensioner it set correctly. . Should have about 3/16" -1/4" play at the top of the chain close to the middle. Mine was making a little noise, had the primary cover off, found it had about 3/4" of play, that's too much had a little chain sap making some noise.
Moved the tensioner up one click with a screwdriver in the back , all good now. Think you might be able to pull the derby cover off and sneak a long thin screwdriver in there and push up on the chain for a quick check without pulling cover.
Have seen several posts on how to take the slack out riding the bike. I just preferred to take a look and make sure what was up...Greg
