lighting
« on: February 09, 2017, 06:34:25 AM »

got a new 2017 CVO streetglide.  Wanted to add some additional lighting on the saddlebags  Harley shows on its website that saddlebag spoiler kit with lights will fit and the saddlebag lights will fit BUT they both are 6 pin wiring harnesses and the new CVO has a 4 wire harness  Anyone else affected by this?  Anyone have any venders that have lights that will actually plug into the new harness?

thanks in advanmce

Harley has separate spoilers and light kits for the late models that should work.  The link below is for lights with a four pin Molex connection.  I'm guessing the ones you looked at were for bikes previous to 2013.

If additional lighting is your desire, you could do worst than those HD saddlebag lights.  I've seen them in action before, and they look good.
On the other hand, if additional visibility/safety is at the heart of your need, you may want to think about adding a brakelight modulator.   A lot of us guys are adding them, and they really get a driver's attention, and for much less than new saddlebag lights.  Plus it'll only take an hour or less to install.
I did a review last year or the year before on them.  I wouldn't leave home without 'em now.

Oh, and while you're at it, go on over to the New Members Section and introduce yourself to the gang.  And welcome to the forum!

Also for $170, Custom Dynamics, http://www.customdynamics.com/street_magic_harley_davidson_led_taillights.htm, makes a brake light that wakes up the skunks on a dark road. I had never gotten more complaints from riders behind me at night then when I applied brakes in front of them.

Just be careful when you use the magnet that changes the brightness and flash patterns, that thing will pick up EVERY piece of conductible metal in your garage!!

I had the dealer lookup the right part but it would not plug into the 2017 wiring harness in the 17 CVO apparently they changed the harness.  I worked with the dealer and Harley techs and they had to wire it in by the battery  it now works and it looks great.  thanks to all
