GMR 113 cam choice help
« on: February 23, 2017, 08:02:29 PM »

Help!  Steve is out of the 577 and 600 Genesis cams.  He is suggesting the S&S 585.
We are running the 113 at 10.6 cr.  I ride solo, have a 2016 SG and don't want to totally lose my bottom end.

As long as good torque at 2,300-2,400 I am good.  He said with compression and cubes I should be fine.

Thanks

Thank you both.  His advice is sound.  Just looking for experience as I was really looking forward to the 577s.

I've seen his work (Dyno sheets). I'd let him throw the 585 in and sleep very well knowing the bike will scream throughout the RPM range when he's done.  8)

He said it could be as long as 10 weeks.  Andrews is geared for the M8 run now.

Thank you.  I hear the S&S 585 will really pull through the band.

What about the Kuryakyn cams? Not sure if you can still find a set of 24D's, but they are close in specs to the 577.

Trust Steve in the making from "cradle to grave" with your build.... you start getting a lot of opinions & we all have them... which, can lead to confusion.
Make the decision & press on  :2vrolijk_21:

If all else fails, you can use Kuryaakyn TC 24D cams, designed by Mike Roland, and widely copied.
With decent heads, and 113" you should be mid to upper 120's, and 130's torque setting compression at 10.3:1 or so.  ;)

Barrhill,

I will check with Steve.  Thank you.  You went to the 600.  What is the difference in their performance?
