I went to the trouble of changing fork fluid to S/E. Can't tell any difference. But the 440's made a huge difference. I used a kit from TJ Products that is made to lower  a standard dresser 1". Then I used a set of 13" 440 HD's I had from a previous bike. Bike sets exactly where it did before and has a full 3" travel now. Works good. Those folks with the 11.5" shocks, it appears to me, have only 1.5" travel. Have to bottom out it seems.

I changed to the SE fork oil very soon after getting the bike also but did notice a surprising amount of difference.  Mine was diving in the nose so badly, however, that I was pretty sure the oil volume was low to begin with.  I used the 12.5" shocks in the rear.  The two things together made a significant difference in how the bike handled and how comfortably it rode.

I just installed the progressive springs 11-1131 and I like the ride much better.

Thanks for the info and installation tips Captain.  Did the front progressive springs take all of the "bottoming out" in the forks away.  The 440's on the rear solved that end, but I still hit bottom with the front frequently.  Thanks again!

Hey BLM,
What lenght 440`s did you put on your bike to stop the rear from botteming out ?
I keep draging the kickstand on mine in a left turn with 25 psi in the air shocks. I was thinking of putting on a set of 12.5 inch shocks but was currious as to what it would do the the geomerty of the bike with the lowered frontend.

Yo Mobe,
Thanks for the info.  You're a brave man to let your wife near you with a ruler....she starts measuring other stuff and it could turn out bad... [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

As for the progressives,  the most important thing you said was not going with the heavy duty, IMO.  As I don't ride 2 up often, bet the standard duty would give the smoothest ride for me as well.

regards,

elvis

Hi  .. If I have read these posts correctly, the Progressive shocks will help eliminate the bone jarring ride on my 05 Se Glide?  I traded in an 02 Ultra on this and lordy does it ride stiff.  I just know I will hear about it from the better half when she gets on the back.
Last weekend I put about 300 miles in it and there were times I was bumped off the seat.   I hate having to throw money in a brand new scoot but if these shocks help,,,that's what I'll do.   Thanks in advance for any comments.

They really smooth out the ride which was very harsh with the wife and I on the bike,  know its like floating on air.  Am interested to try them loaded for a trip.
