Rhino, I only have 10 days to get from Nelson to Kitty Hawk NC. My wife has never seen the west so we are trying to get in as much as possible on that trip.

Thanks Talon.

Looked at the route from Yellowstone and down to Jackson and over, looks like it's going on the trip must do list. Thanks.
Rhino

Stay over a night in Jackson. Pretty hip, though touristy, town. We stayed at the Wyoming Inn on the S/W part of town. Best mattress we ever slept  ;) in.

Hey Ho,

Does that mean you are shipping also?
Conservatively, it is about 3500 miles from Nelson to KH, with all the detours, sightseeing, etc.  That's an average of 350 a day for your 10 day limit.  5-7 hours saddle time a day, that is more than my wife could tolerate ...I mean enjoy...as a passenger....

No shipping

No passengers......she rides her own FLHX

350 a day....not too bad, thought there might be a few 500 mile days toward the end of the trip.

Damn,  forgot about the 5 600 mile days on the way out.

Have been watching all this planning and working and thinking and planning and working and thinking about the trip back and forth to Nelson.  So much dedication and effort.  Was beginning to feel just so unworthy.  Really lame and so not-a-real-road-warrior.  Then I remembered that I subscribe to the I'm-goin'-that-a-way school of motorcycle navigation whenever time allows.  And my one real plan for this trip is that time will allow.  After this revelation I didn't feel nearly so bad after all  :drink: .

It's always good to put her nose into the wind and let her go, however for some they prefer to know which way her nose will lead.

Big Al would have been hard pressed to make his Yellowknife run without a plan last summer, although I know his CC run was more of a point it and go trip. :2vrolijk_21:

But as I said before, if I don't sort of have a plan, I would find myself who knows where, which is okay in any language.  EXCEPT, I would be about 10 days out, and finding myself short of time. Reality Check vs. Unworthiness. It's ok if you can afford it, do it. But on the other hand, we would not have an internet site if all we did was ride. Some must mind the store. (Reality)

In my RV it was a different story, I drove everywhere, two years straight, and worked the camps in exchange for food and a space.  Figure out how to do that on a sickle with a nice pillow and bed at night, and I'm gone. When I would return, the house and wife would be gone. (downside).
