My first impressions are the same.  Blah.  Bleh.  HD has dropped some weird $hit in it's regular bike lineup for years.  Looks like the weird $hit contingent is winning at the design team level.

Maybe better looking in person.  Hope so.  CVOs - 2018 maybe worst color year ever.

Man, no kidding, those colors are terrible, not meant to offend anyone, was gonna post a little earlier, but I waited, pretty much everyone is on the same page. When do the 19's come out ? 😳 flhman

Roadglide special is $100 les than a RGU? WTF? Glad I have both the bikes I want.  They've priced themselves out of my wallet.  Way too easy to find a nice used Rushmore roadglide for under 15k. The softails look ok, but hasn't the moco seen what the kids that ARE picking up riding are doing?  FXR's and Dyna's, set up with long travel suspension and moto x type bars, and mid controls.  Just don't see softails being their flavor. I was really hoping to see a middleweight sport touring type, guess I will just have to find another FXDX

We'll start that thread next week sometime.  :P

At this rate the interest in the 2019s will be more "WTF is HD doing?" instead of anticipation.

By then the color matched to paint tires should be ready.   :-\

CVO RG in black is not bad looking but I almost puked - no lowere- no tour pack.
Not sure where the radiators are but for 41k they must be somewhere. It's going to be a bad year for dealerships

Boy, did they ever screw the pooch!  To say the paint design and colors are crappy would be an insult to feces.  I think they are taking a mulligan for 2018 so they can get the multitudes of older stock which is much more inspiring off the dealer show floor. There are enough suckers who have to have the latest model who will buy this years tripe to keep them afloat for awhile.  I would definitely prefer a 2016 -17 over these.  I love the paint on my 2012 SGSE and thought they did a good job on the 2015, & ok on the 17.

JUST MY 2cents worth.  No Harley stock for me.

Agreed, the new colors are only something a mother could love. And I dont see the line of mothers lining up!
Makes my CandyColbalt/Indigo Ink w/chrome look sooooo good!

I did see the CVO SG's now have speakers in the lower fairing, and they look to be 6 1/2" also with a molded fairing mount, not like last yrs 4" speaker mounted on the flat snap in panel.
I can see me adding those speakers to mine, even though they are Booms. The Boom system has been just fine for me.

HD emergency board meeting tonight, after seeing comments on the 2018s.  Decided to offer, free of charge, one dozen HD logo barf bags mounted on each 2018 in an easy to reach holster.  Replacement bags are only $24.95 each.

I will say my 27 yr old son is going nuts over the Fat Bob. I am trying to slow him down but he wants to go buy one next week. I told him if he waits a month or 2 he will save a ton but we all know how 27 yr old boys listen to their dads..

Okay, I think I figured out what the heck is going on with the new 2018's...

It must be their way of clearing out all the 15's, 16's & 17's still on the sales floors all over the place!

A tad expensive sales marketing tool, but it should do the trick.   :2vrolijk_21:

PS - I have never been so disappointed in a new CVO lineup.  Simply terrible paint schemes, and a price increase to boot!

I'll just keep racking up the miles on my beloved Duracell.

It appears to me that:
  • Company Execs have shorted/dumped their MoCo Stock before the dealer show
  • Purchased shares of Polaris (Indian)
  • Waiting to make a killing on the above transactions
  • Using the new bikes as a kind of natural selection to thin the stealership herd
Willie G is sorely missed

The stealers probably picked up their cell phones, when they rolled out the bikes, and called their accountants and bankruptcy attorneys.

I am sure the stealers are longing for the old days where they could stick it to their customers.

I've been buying and riding Harley's since I was 18. I can say without a doubt, this is the worst I've ever seen. The colors and the price increase is absolutely ridiculous. And to top it off the CVO RG and SG share the exact colors, WTF!

I like the new Fat Boy.

Not sure how they justify the price hike.
