Screamin' Eagle on CVO Road Glide fairing?
« on: June 03, 2017, 10:48:27 PM »

An iconic emblem that graced the CVO Road Glide for years was removed for the last few editions and I wonder how many miss it and think it should return.

I for one (even though I prefer an Electra Glide over the Road Glide) believe it should be back where it belongs - On the CVO Road Glide's fairing.   :2vrolijk_21:

How about you?

I'd rather see the screamin eagle tank badges on the roadglide like they had on the streetglide a few years back.

Would absolutely love to see a 2019 Roadie with a duplicate paint job of my 09 yellow bird. Or even better all 3 colors that was released that year.

So to answer the question.... put the bird back where it belongs

Not me! I have one LOL...

So far the Yellow and the Slate are proprietary to the '09 SERGs,, I told the MoCo guy at MV '15 that I hope they keep it that way :bananarock:

Not sure what the reason the MoCo stopped putting the Eagles on the Bikes?? and stopped referring as Screamn' Eagle and went to CVO??

Maybe the Rushmore "focus groups" didn't like the cartoon colors and wanted something more sedate??

My all time favorite is the '00 SERG O/B,,, With the flow of the graphics that thing looks like a friggin' billboard goin' down the road :pepper:

All the '09's SERG's are awesome looking, and so are the 2000's that have similar paint schemes, but I particularly like the triple red from 2000.

Possible I'm a tad bias towards the paint schemes from those 2 years because it reminds me of my '08 Duracell, just no eagle head!

Maybe they decided to drop the Screamin Eagle name and graphics after the CVO became a trim line made on the factory assembly line.

Also they have a full line of Screamin Eagle accessories such as mufflers and air cleaners etc. and with so many bikes having the SE parts it was harder to tell the CVO version bikes from a stock bike with SE accessories?

Keep in mind that every CVO uses SE in its letter designation, example: FLTRUSE. SE standing for Screamin Eagle.

Keep in mind that every CVO uses SE in its letter designation, example: FLTRUSE. SE standing for Screamin Eagle.

It appears that the SE in the model name is simply a carryover from the original line.  They stopped calling the bikes "Screamin' Eagle" after the 2008 model year.  In 2009 they started calling them CVO's.  I think they simply forgot to remove the eagle on the 2009 and it was some sort of bastard year for the RG and they caught it when they moved to the assembly line.   :o

I believe they always referred to their Custom Vehicle Operations lineup as Screamin' Eagle motorcycles, and unfortunately they dropped the Screamin' Eagle designation in 2009.

Screamin' Eagles were from their C.V.O. department, as my '08 has both designations on it.

I imagine prior to '09 some young sales reps were getting confused  :confused5: with some older reps calling them SE's and others CVO's.  So to assist with sales, the MoCo decided to take a vote and CVO won???    :nixweiss:

Sadly another tradition gone by the wayside.  :(

Mine will remain being called a CVO Screamin' Eagle.

Now if we could only convince the powers to BRING BACK THE EAGLE on the Road Glides!  :2vrolijk_21:

I personally was very disappointed when they dropped the graphics off the new Road Glides , I think that maybe the "ghost bird" on the 2009 was a sign that the design line was dead.

PS ... I also prefer the Triple Red 2000  :pepper: :pepper: :pepper: for obvious reasons  ;)
