SCREAMIN EAGLE HORN COVERS
« on: February 22, 2007, 06:58:04 AM »

I see some of you have bought the Eagle horn cover listed in the vendor discount section & I nearly bought one myself. Even though they look really cool I do not really think they resemble the "Screamin Eagle". I have however found one that does resemble the 'Screamin Eagle'

Aussie,
where did you find that one?  It looks pretty good, but doesn't have the detail that the Chromedome covers do.  Do they offer a chrome version or only polished?

Red,

Don't get me wrong the 'chromedome eagle' looks fantastic, but I was looking more for somthing closer to the 'screamin eagle' logo eagle.
Comes in black chrome, regular chrome & polished

FOUND IT HERE

Maybe it's just me, and I'm not being paid anything by Chromedome, but the chrome version of that horn cover really lacks any sort of definition.  Even up close it's hard to make out.  Here's the chromed version of the Chromedome on my bike, much better detail.

Just curious how hard it is to install the wiring for the led light in the eagles eye.  Do I have to take the gas tank off.

You could pick up running light power and a ground leg at the accessory plug under the seat.  From there come through to the battery box area then back forward along the cruise control cable to get up behind the horn cover.  Would make for a fairly well hidden wire pair (wrap it in black shrink wrap so it blends in) and would be easy to do while not requiring you to touch the tank.

Is this the triple plated Chrome version or the marine grade aluminium one ?

I need an opinion on the relative merits of both and on which eye colour looks best for the LED.

Cheers,

Nige,
The one I posted, and have on my ride, is the triple-plated chrome.  The polished marine-grade aluminum one is posted earlier in this thread.  Both are beautiful works of art.  The polished aluminum, because of the polishing process leaves some unpolished areas around the feathers and eye and thus gives the horn some "depth" or detail, over the chrome which covers those darker areas.  Both give great detail though.  I put the chrome one on, (I have both versions), because, well, it's chrome ;) and feeds my OCD a little better.

As far as LED eye, if I were to have gotten one with it, it would have been the amber one.  I think that would look sharp against the black engine.

Whichever one you chose, IMO, you'll like. :)  Make sure you call Dennis direct to get the discount (15% on the chrome, 20% on the polished aluminum).
