After several years of running an open primary drive I'm going to go back to an enclosed primary. The chrome is starting to look like crap and I'm getting tired of the noise (getting old). I'm way out of the compensator loop so what should I be installing? Baker, Dark Horse, SE or what? Second, the chain tensioner, I still have the stock chain tensioner so is there a better choice?

To be honest, what I would do is try to stay with the open Belt. SE is failing, Baker fails etc.... well here again, it also depends "how" you ride your bike. Why not geeting a closed cover for your belt system? What system ur drivin? Which brand?

For the chain tensioner I would go only baker attitude. It's almost a must for the twin cam

I had the Pm version of a BDL on the bike. A whole lot of money for something that only made a few years before the chrome went to crap.

Now that I switched back I notice the differences between the two setups. The Pm definitely pulls gearing from the bike. Next is clutch pull, stock is almost one finger pull capable. The Pm required a handful of lever. The noise alone, I didn't realize how loud the Pm was until going back to stock. A lot can be said for the oem slipper clutch. Now I'm giving up the sole reason I installed the Pm, to get rid of the compensator. I sure was hoping something better was available by now. If I have to start changing compensators on a regular basis than I'll go back to the Pm or a different version.

We just got back from a 500 mile weekend trip and it was nice to just be able to ride without having to make clutch adjustments. I laughed as now I can the motor noise and I was wondering what I was hearing.
