My fault just had to respond. By the way Vespas are cool. Sold one a few months back to a guy in Spain. It was almost 50 years old though.

Get the Vespa and enjoy it

I AM ONLY 65, I have been riding since I was 7, starting on the dirt. I have owned 11 Harleys, a Norton 750 Commando, Triumphs, Honda, a Kawi and Yama. My current collection is a 2014 HD RK CVO, 2017 Triumph Bobber, and a 2012 Vespa 300 GTi. I have two friends I ride with that also have a Harley and a Vespa 300. Don't let the idea of a scooter deter you. Without question the most fun I have is on my Vespa. It is the only bike I ride everyday, to run errands, explore narrow back roads, I have even toured the Blue Ridge Parkway on my Vespa. Ride one and you will not believe how much fun 2 wheels can be. All that being said I love my other bikes also and at this point would not consider selling any of them.

I say go for the Vespa. I think they are actually pretty cool, and really are the Harley's of the scooter world.

I also think that because you rode one when you were younger, it will give you a nice reminiscent feeling if you got one, and would make it that much of a nicer ride for you.

At one time, all at the same time, I owned a Vespa 100 Sport, Lambretta 150, 1965 Cushman Silver Eagle kick start, 1965 Silver Eagle electric start, '77 GL1000 Goldwing, '77 Triumph T140 750 twin and two Isetta 300's.  They all ran except for the two Isettas.

The most fun of any of them was on the '65 Silver Eagle kick start.  Simple, slow and lots of fun to ride up to around 50 mph.

Today I have the '76 FLH Shovelhead, '09 SERG and my Boardtrack 113" project bike.  Also just acquired is a '98 Honda Helix 150.  It has 600 miles on it.

I'm looking forward to riding the Honda a LOT.  It will be my Home Depot go getter as well as cruising the neighborhood ride.

In a perfect world, I would think something like the Suzuki Burgman 400 would great to puttle around on, even two up occasionally.

I say go for the Vespa and don't look back.

I'd still love to score an old Servicar for local puddle jumping and general messing around.
